WindowsWiki© V:1.71

Forget paper, carry WindowsWiki© in your notebook/netbook/laptop Windows computer!!

(subsequent editions look the same)

Think of a spiral bound notebook... with no paper in it. One that you can insert pages into at will, practically without limit, that can quickly and easily link to other pages in the notebook. One that can locate and provide a list of every page that mentions the current page at least once, or search for any word of phrase you care to specify. A notebook that has a brain, that does the heavy lifting so you don't have to; a notebook you don't have to be a geek to use, or wealthy to afford. That's WindowsWiki. If you have the smarts to get here, you have the smarts to install and use WindowsWiki©.

Science fiction is funny stuff; it keeps becoming real. That fact excites me as a science fiction fan. And as technology grants POWER, personal tech gives everyone personal power.

You read about something rather like this in The Mote In God's Eye©, where the leading female character is looking for a rather obscure body of information- in her hand held computer; with a few clicks she had found it. The information was linked to from several places, and she found it very easily. This software makes that sort of functionality reality for written documents in it- even illustrated ones, it does images fine.

Please think about it for a moment... you have a netbook computer, yes? Well, one of the things it does very poorly is... work as a notebook, the spiral bound paper thingamajig stores sell by the ton every day; got one? Maybe 5? Well, this software product lets that netbook do that job WAY better; it rectifies that deficiency, world class. TRY IT! Please, it's on us, free for 30 days with no committment past that, download it and try it out; make me prove my point. Call me out on this. If you carry more than 3 pounds of paper with you, you need to take a hard look at this.

Imagine that notebook takes you direct from a page, to another page that touches on the page you are reading- with a click. Imagine you can do this so simply that I could train you in person in FIVE MINUTES, or you can read the documents in be up to speed in 10. Imagine... then write your imaginings.

Not sure? Ok, try it $FREE$ for 30 days, no obligation, no commitment. After that, IF you like it and want to continue, you pay $10 dollars (USD) to register it and keep it working. (For commercial usage on multiple machines there is a sliding fee scale depending on the number of installs licensed at any moment; the details are included in the manual.)

This software is SO SIMPLE AND RELIABLE that we wrote the manual for it IN THE WIKI; We are THAT confident it is easy to use and reliable, that you will use it to read how to use it. Yes, we're going out on a limb on that one; and yes, we're confident you can handle it. If you can surf the web, you can handle using WindowsWiki.

WindowsWiki© is intended for:

Self installing for ease and convenience, and written for the windows environment, it is simple and powerful, with a feature set to help the mobile user to compute on the go. Forget paper, hypernotebooks are the way to go. WW turns your laptop, notebook, or netbook into a hypernotebook.

GEEK BLOOD NOT CALLED FOR. It is almost drool-proof it's so simple to use, and reliable to match. If you could get here on the web on your own, you can do this.

NO GEEKS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS WIKI

WW is shareware, AND IS $FREE$ to try out for 30 days after you install it. After that it refuses to work until you register it. Your work in it is safe however.

You can download it below. When it is installed, it starts counting days. AFTER 30 DAYS IT SHUTS DOWN unless and until you register it. This costs $10USD. Licenses for more than install are available, as detained in the wiki. You can register it by clicking the CLICK HERE TO PAY button further down this page. NOTE that installing it once on a LAN and accessing it from all the computers on the LAN only counts as 1 install.

BE ADVISED that while THE REGISTERING PROGRAM paragraph REFERS TO v:1.50, IT IS USED FOR ALL VERSIONS AFTER 1.40, so Don't Panic.

DOWNLOAD WindowsWiki© V:1.71 NOW!

PYTHON NOTES
Python is a very powerful language which WW is written in, and must be present on the computer for WW to work. WW comes with python, and will optionally will install the language. If you already have it, you can skip installing it. BE ADVISED that Python V:2.22 has a few issues; if present, you may care to delete it and update to 2.5, which I have included.

NEW AUTOMATIC REGISTERING PROGRAM INSTALLS REGISTERED VERSION FOR YOU WHEN YOU LICENSE IT!

WW is a part of the cybernetic revolution moving towards paperless... everything. Are we giving you the impression this is an exciting step forward???

Ww uses a lightweight http server called TinyWeb. If you just want to play with tinyweb but not with the wiki, you can have the server for free, just click TINYWEB V:1.93 While copyrighted, it is freeware. It make a VERY GOOD utility server for development work or personal serving as a LOCALHOST provider, and is well recommended to students and hobbyists. It's author Max created it and offers it to all the world for free, even for commercial use, as long as it is not altered or claimed, and the license is reproduced intact. THANK YOU Max! He and his friends are over at RIT LABS and produce the fine free Email client The Bat (among other things).

shareware

The WindowsWiki&Copy; V:1.71A; software suite with built in manual is COPYRIGHT 2009 by Kirk D. Bailey, and is shareware. You may use it for free for 30 days to evaluate it. It will shut off after 30 days of use UNLESS AND UNTIL IT IS REGISTERED. This will NOT harm your pages.

PS: uninstalling and reinstalling it will not defeat this.

We will email you the instructions to do it manually; the new program for 1.50 (and later) WILL NOT WORK with 1.40, sorry. Use the contact form (see footer) for instructions on how to do it- or just install the new and superior version over the old one- this will NOT obliterate new pages you created, ALTHOUGH IT will RESET MODIFICATIONS TO PAGES THAT CAME WITH THE WIKI TO THEIR ORIGINAL STATE- WITH CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS IMPLEMENTED SINCE THEN.

We are working on refining the documentation built into the wiki. If you wish to contribute, edit the documentation included in it and Send it to me using the feedback form, or email once you learn how to contact me. This can earn you credit in the manual, and also A free registration.

To see what it looks like, here is a SCREENSHOT of my desktop.

Details for perspiring minds:

GURANTEE:
NONE
It will occupy space on the hard drive. No promises beyond that. While we have tested this software carefully and are confident that is is fit for it's intended purpose, and DOES work on our test machines, we cannot have prior knowledge of the computer and circumstances you will (attempt to?) install it into and use it within, and cannot predict results, so it is offered to you AS IS, with no guarantee expressed nor implied. We are particularly concerned with Windows Vista giving our friends considerable trouble getting it to run, even when run in XP compatible mode; we are researching this.
