Freeholds were the owned land estates of freemen of the Germanic peoples. (The author is largely Danish and English, from the 'Dane Law' area.) On their land, they were very nearly autonomous kings, even having the power to judge crimes. One's freehold was one's land, home, estate, even if so little as a cottage on a very small mark of land, such as a modern acre. TO THIS DAY the law refers to owned land as a freehold- as opposed to holding in rent. However, today, ownership is essentially the right to tax- for the government, and little else. Homestead exemption, intended to preserve the right to a home, is a way to discount one's taxes a little, and no more; you have no right to a home.
Yes, I said that. HOME is the only place on earth you have to RIGHT to exist; ALL other places are PRIVILEGES. However, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO A HOME. And the system around you will hold it over you and try to take it away from you to squeeze more gain out of you. The system around you is a cannibal, a vampire, and it will do anything it can get away with to remove value from you, to it.
Some of us choose to cooperate in freedom to resist this, as customers, and as merchants. If this offends you, you came to the wrong place of business.
Is this how you want to live? Dependent on the permission of others? LICENSED to exist? PRIVILEGED to live? ALLOWED to live as long as you benefit others? IE, a SERF? Or do you want to live AS A SELF INHERENT RIGHT, on your own freehold? Is your existence a right, or a privilege? (Are you a citizen, or a subject?) If the answer is 'SERF', you can stop reading now, this article, this WEBSITE is not for you.
Today, there is an increasing tendency to view the homeowner as a MARKETING TARGET, someone to 'wash', to work over to gain a purchase. Hmmm, that's not a very nice way to treat someone.
Maybe you have a right to exist which is inherent, and not something you have to LEASE with periodic payments? A better way is to seek and offer products which enhance personal power and freedom.
I make the argument that you own yourself; that you own your life; that your property is an extension and product of your life, and you own this as well, and that as you own self and property you have the right to use each as you see fit, provided you do no harm to the person or property of another equal person. And THAT in a nutshell is a very terse statement of Libertarianism.
